Too busy celebrating to blog!!!

Yesterday at Laguna Seca we took our first win of the season and our first one two finish ever!!! It was a great feeling to see our boys at the top of the podium. It’s an amazing feeling to know we actually made a run for it and got it! It made a budge our points standings a little, still though, we won!!

I had a chance to see the new Nicky Hayden edition 848, it’s pretty sweet, but nothing I would ride. It’s pretty much Nicky’s 09 Laguna Seca paint job on a 848. Nice paint, still I wouldn’t ride it, lol.

The Moto GP race was okay, nothing really exciting happened. I have to give a lot of people some credit. First off, Jorge Lorenzo, he was riding injured and still gave it his best shot. Which landed him on the podium no less. Next up will be Valentino Rossi, the doctor, and eight time world champion. Not only was he battling Jorge up until the end. He decided to lay it all out on the line to get first but didn’t have enough steam.

Finally, Casey Stoner, Australian, and fellow Ducati rider. Figure out what that mystery illness is! You cruised to fourth, but if you were at 100% health you could have made it to the top!

Needless to say, Laguna Seca was a blast, I’m happy Laline and I rode up there on our bikes. I had an awesome time.

We’re in Monterey for the weekend for the AMA and Moto GP races. It’s going to be insane I tell you! Absolutely insane! Seeing Rossi and Hayden around, it’s cool. I got a chance for Ducati USA to see my bike. Even though it’s your standard 848 with some mods. They actually liked the theme of it. I showed them a couple pics from my project, I scored some pretty sweet parts from them. In particular a carbon fiber chain gaurd, fender, and a carbon fiber swing arm cover. Yes, you read that right. It’s crazy. I’ll be investing in some carbon fiber stuff for the wife’s bike.

For the race our riders are qualified in fifth and nineth. But in over all, our racers, in points, are fifth and six. We have championship hopes. With our performance so far it’s possible, but I don’t think it will happen. Especially with RockStar Makita leveling every race.

Laline and I are currently in Sonoma for my team’s AMA race, we had a slip in today’s race, but it’s all good!!! One top tier rider came in 15th but the second tier rider won!!! How great is that!?! Another great thing was that I was getting paid to hang out. Just in case the computers failed or something. I did have to take off my sunglasses and break a sweat when it came to do a little minor work on the GSXR. But I am glad our boys are still consistant. We’re in spots 3 and 4 overall. But it’s our first year and the same with our riders. It’s their first year on premium and reliable rides. So it’s nice to see some wins!

Great news!

The shop has been buzzing today with excitement. We picked up a few sponsors mid season! Which eases our operating costs quite nicely. Like pretty much in half!

We signed with Renthal, they make chains, sprockets, grips, etc. But our deal is exclusively for the chains and sprockets.  They have absolutely amazing products and I can’t wait to get my hands on some free swag for the 848. Can anyone say 42 tooth sprocket and 520 conversion anytime soon?

Next up we scored an exhaust sponsorship. Even though I’m a bit bias to my Termis on the Ducati, we got another favorite. Leo Vince!!! These guys are great. They simply called, a few days later, products were here, and they were on the bikes. We got the full Titanium systems. Which weigh as much as a small dog. Crazy sounding exhaust too.

Another great addition is Bridgestone! We would go through a ton of Michelins through the weekend. A set for practice, set for qualifying, and two sets a rider per each race. That equals up to SIXTEEN tires a weekend. And those aren’t exactly cheap tires either. Bridgestone is giving a price break and a contingency program too. Which gets us money for competing.

Sato Racing is now a sponsor with us too. They make amazing rear sets, some which I may end up putting on my 848 depending how the stock ones feel while I have repeated track usage on them. But they’re nice rear sets that every one should have.

Finally, which I think are some cool things. ASV Inventions. They make hand controls. Which have extreme user friendly options. You set how far they are from your fingers. How long you pull to operate. How long they are. Amazing color options, and you bet I am putting them on my 848!

Fun weekend!

Friday night we rode down to Atlanta for the race at Road Atlanta. We rode with a few people I work with to do this press pack. The guys decided to show how durable our bikes are. The ride down was absolutely amazing. Our 200mph AMA Superbike GSXR1000 just trotting along down the highway. Did a couple quick spurts, I tried to keep up. Couldn’t for the life of me keep up, at all.

The races were awesome to see. The Daytona Superbike class is highly competitive so is our class of Amercian Superbike. But one thing that stood out was that every one was cool with eachother.

The best part was we scored podium finishes! The first race our Geoff and Blake were 3 -4. The second race it was Blake and Geoff 2-3. A really exciting race, Matt Mladin is a hard charger. But we’ll capture the top spot some time! We celebrated like crazy Saturday night in Atlanta. Dinner, ride around town, and then crashed the hotel. Crazy fun with a nice relaxing ride home this morning.

Laline is sitting in my office as I type this. Looking so cute in her Relentless Motorsports shirt. The team is in Road Atlanta this weekend. For a magazine thing and an internet movie. One of the spare bikes will be rode from here to Road Atlanta.

We’ve got our bags packed now we’re just waiting for the magazine people to get here. It’ll be a fun a little ride. It’s a 200mph bike and it’ll be cruising down the highway to Atlanta. That’s going to be nice. I’ll be on my 848 and Laline will be on her CBR600RR. I even bought her a helmet for special occasions.
