Dyno day!

leave a comment »

I made 1150RWHP on a dyno yesterday. The torque curve was insane now that I finally made one full wide open throttle pass on the rollers. What made it even better was the new Toyo R888s hooked like a mother fucker! They even stayed in traction during the hard highway pull on the way home. People liked the car, I love the car. I’d like to get some more aero bits on the underside of the car. Just to keep the car stable on the highway and when I do top speed events out in the mile or in the Silver State Classic.

Friday the wife stopped by the office, because the new couch was in. She even crashed out on the couch about thirty minutes after coming over. I let her nap out on it for most of the morning because she was tired from the night before. Not because we were sexin’, because she needed help with a paper. That I ended up finishing for her.

Live from Ely

leave a comment »

So here I am in the town of Ely, Nevada. Tomorrow we do the course a few times. Do a mile shoot out, and then Sunday is the race. Now my biggest problem is, the parking for our rigs. The Escalade and trailer is about a good three block distance from the hotel. I really don’t like that idea.

During inspection we hit a little snag, I applied for the unlimited class. They said I need a fire suppression system. After a detailed inspection. Showing them that the harness was fire proof, the car is equipped with a body pan on the bottom. No couplers to go up in flames. Being that I have Wiggings clamps on everything. A scatter shield on my transmission. The hood is coated in FIA spec gold heat panels. The car is pretty safe, I even put a drive shaft loop on it. Damn, here I am letting out almost all of my mods in a single blog post. There are a few things I still haven’t mentioned. Those will remain silent for a little bit. Maybe until DSport emails me back.

Silver State Classic Challenge

leave a comment »

Laline and I spent the morning packing up the Supra for the Silver State Classic Challenge. I have extra tires and wheels for the challenge. Tons of VP Import in the trailer. I loaded up our Alpinestars driving suits, all I am waiting for is for the helmets to come in. Yeah, the Silver State Classic is something crazy! The course itself is 90 miles of a million or so turns. I don’t know how they are going to deal with me not having a fire supression system. But I highly doubt anything on the Supra will catch fire.

I had to make sure I could fit the new 345s for the event under the car. With some careful massaging, I finally made them fit. I know if they rub just a little, I may be in for trouble. But I have two sets of Pilot Sport Cups for the challenge itself. Not too mention my usual Pilot Sports. If the Cups are anything like the Sports. Once they hit up, they stick. So look out for the big ass burn out from the black Supra at the starting line.

I am registered for the SuperSport class in the 180 division. I would rather under average, than over average. The car is 200+ capable, but we’ll fgure every thing out once we get there. I hope my Supra stands up to it’s first true test.
